Will you ‘own’ your story?

Are you brave enough to tell the truth?

Once we've lived through a difficult experience we usually want to move past it as quickly as possible.

This looks a bit different for each of us...

For me, I want to focus on being positive and NOT see the negative aspects of the experience.

Someone else may want to numb out and forget the pain with alcohol, drugs, shopping, sex, anything to distract them from the 'bad' thing that happened.

Whatever it is we do, it is a survival response to pain. When we haven't learned it's safe to own the truth of our story and look at it from all aspects, it's typical to run in the opposite direction.

How can we change this auto response and be brave enough to own the truth and see it fully?

Practice doing something new.

You've heard the definition of insanity, "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result."

Once you're ready to fully embrace your life experience and learn more about yourself, your strength and the incredible YOU that you've become, it's time to learn a different approach to pain.
