"You can wait for the one who hurt you to heal you. But the thing is, you'll die waiting and still wounded.
You gotta heal you.
That's your life work... not theirs.
Let them go and get to work on their own stuff.
Their fault - - Okay. Got it.
Now, YOU."
~Glennon Melton
Writing can be an amazing tool for healing and Self-Discovery ?
+ As you write, you discover ideas and thoughts you didn't even know were there in your mind. It can be illuminating to say the least.
+ Your story has value. YOU.
+ Begin today, get comfortable and write for 5 minutes about the thoughts that keep coming up. It could be something you worry about, something you need to do or even something you don't know how to do.
This is a great writing exercise to empty your mind. Let go of the structure of sentence and just write for 5 minutes about anything that's in your mind.
> After 5 minutes stop writing. Put that writing aside and start fresh on a new page. For another 5-15 minutes, write about your desires and dreams. What is it that matters most to you. What do you want to do that you're NOT. How can you BEGIN to start along the path to reaching your dreams and desires?
Write down a few ACTION steps that you believe are possible for you.
For example:
1- Read a 'how to' book about what it is you desire to accomplish.
2- Phone a friend.
3- Join a group (or participate in this one https://www.facebook.com/groups/DiscoverYourStory/).
4- Work with a mentor who can guide and encourage you.
The main idea here is to take action. Even if it's a small step -- it's still progress ? Moving in the direction of your dreams!
